Typical Project

The cooperation on a new project with a new customer will normally follow a certain path. Below you can find a short description of how we normally proceed with new customers at JLI:

  • The new customer approaches JLI with an inspection problem they need to solve.
  • JLI receives a description of the inspection problem, preferably with images of the production and test items, in order to better understand the complexity of the problem.
  • JLI will normally answer within 24 hours and propose an idea of how the problem can be solved.
  • JLI may request samples, the kind of products that may or may not be rejected. It is important to get samples of marginal faults.
  • JLI will do a feasibility study at own cost, and are able to provide a quotation for a turnkey installation.
  • The quotation is addressed to the end customer. All communication with JLI is in English.
  • JLI may visit the customer if necessary and perform a site survey.
  • If the customer accepts our offer we will issue the first invoice and start the project.
  • JLI develops the system in Denmark.
  • When JLI is ready – typically 4 months after the purchase order - the customer may want to see the equipment in our factory for a factory test (FAT) before shipment.
  • The system is shipped and the second invoice is issued.
  • When the system arrives at the customer's location and the factory is ready for installation, JLI engineers travel to the site and perform the installation and commissioning - including a site acceptance test (SAT).
  • When the system is commissioned the last invoice is issued.
  • After commission JLI will monitor the system over the Internet. Our systems can be operated from our offices in Denmark and this is a great help for the customer. JLI is available for 24 hour service through service contracts or otherwise service by the hour.

This is the basic flow of a project, with many possible variations depending on the application. We adjust to your needs.
